Early Career Network
During the 2026-27 school year, educators within and beyond Boston will have an opportunity to access professional learning designed and led by the Boston Teacher Residency (BTR), gaining both practical skills for the classroom and a supportive learning community of peers. We invite teachers in their first three years to join an Early Career Network.
WHY Early Career Network?
We believe that every child deserves an excellent teacher, and that every teacher deserves access to a network of support that will help them to stay in and excel in this critical, challenging, and joyful profession.
Our Early Career Network offers a cohort model, convening regional groups of teachers across the state in a professional learning community spanning the school year. The network supports teachers to launch and maintain a productive learning environment, helping teachers at a critical point in their careers to build confidence, competence, and commitment, and gain a community of support.
WHO this is for:
Our Early Career Network is designed for teachers within their first three years of service. Teachers across all grade levels and content areas are welcome.
We welcome both individual enrollment and group enrollment from schools or districts seeking quality new teacher induction services and a community of support.
WHAT to expect from the program:
What you’ll learn:
Over the school year, as a member of the Early Career Network, you will:
-
Cultivate a learning environment that is culturally responsive and where all students are learning and building agency
-
Develop efficient and effective planning practices that are data-driven, manageable, and increase student learning
-
Build strong family-school partnerships, engaging families and sustaining their active participation in the classroom and school community
-
Develop and use consistent skills and strategies to study your own teaching and to excavate your own practice as well as the practice of others in order to make improvements
-
Develop both your “muscle memory” in effective classroom management techniques and your in-the-moment decision-making processes
-
Learn directly from BTR faculty and a team of BTR graduates who bring both experience and empathy as early- and mid-career educators
-
Build a community of support with peers within the region, strengthening your relationships and professional network
